Comment on What Marketing Can Learn from Dr Pepper’s 10-2-4 Campaign 🕙 🕑 🕓 by William Goswick https://annhandley.com/dr-pepper/#comment-37833 Wed, 08 May 2024 01:29:12 +0000 https://annhandley.com/?p=4674#comment-37833 In reply to jay baer.

I like the read you wrote. Here is a great piece of Dr pepper advertising memorabilia that goes hand in hand with this piece. It’s a 1950’s era radio jingle that I haven’t been able to find in any Dr pepper archive, not even Wikipedia that shows the history of Dr Pepper advertising campaigns. This is the archive Holy Grail. I wish I knew how to get it in the hands of Dr Pepper (Keurig) https://twitter.com/GoswickWil82633/status/1787991245408616560?t=q6zJRs0cemzjZTMFB9zB0g&s=19

Comment on What Does AI Mean for Writers? by Nauman Nazir https://annhandley.com/what-does-ai-mean-for-writers/#comment-37778 Sun, 28 Apr 2024 16:56:12 +0000 https://annhandley.com/?p=5525#comment-37778 I agree with you AI is just a tool – people should use it only as a tool. Ai makes work faster, but you have ‘to make its produce yours’.

Comment on AI Writing and Typewriters by Rebeca Schiller https://annhandley.com/ai-writing-typewriters/#comment-37450 Wed, 13 Mar 2024 13:32:00 +0000 https://annhandley.com/?p=5530#comment-37450 I just subscribed to both of your newsletters, and I stumbled across this blog post. I love it. I was recently laid off as a web content manager for a large non-profit. While I look for a new position in marketing communications and/or digital marketing (I know lots of crossover nowadays), I’m also building my website. I found a simple image of a red typewriter (an Olivetti, I believe) on a white-painted, plank oak table and a cup of coffee for my site’s header. My gut told me, this is YOU, this is the image. On the side, I added Digital Marketing, Storytelling, and Content Strategy on each of the planks. I liked how it looked, but then I realized the typewriter doesn’t connote digital prowess. But so what? The first phase of creating digital marketing plans, outlining, and strategizing is on paper—analog. At first sight, that photo of the red typewriter inspired me to build my site. It spurred creativity and to go with my gut. Thank you for this blog and for helping me move forward.

Comment on How to Build a Daily Writing Habit by Ricky https://annhandley.com/how-to-build-a-daily-writing-habit/#comment-36729 Tue, 19 Dec 2023 07:25:09 +0000 https://annhandley.com/?p=5221#comment-36729 Thanku so much Ann Handley for sharing this daily writing tip. I will surely apply this habit from now on and tell you the results after few days. I have tried journaling but I am not consistent like I write for 20 or 25 days then stop for 5 days and something like this goes on. I will see if it really helps me in creating a habit of daily writing. THis will be difficult in the beginning but I will keep doing it and tell you the results.

Again thank so much for this. I have tried journaling but failed everytime but this time I feel I will not fail

I’ve been on your email list for the past few months and now I know what “all the fuss” is about. You make it look effortless, though it’s not. At all.

Not effortless, but magnificent. Thank you for creating the bar; I am continuously aiming for it.

Powerful. Blissful. Ever human.

Comment on Green Bean Casserole: Content Marketing Genius? Thanksgiving Side Dish? Or Both? by Kelly Grace https://annhandley.com/green-bean-casserole/#comment-36390 Sun, 19 Nov 2023 18:53:44 +0000 https://annhandley.com/?p=4595#comment-36390 Thanks again Ann for a Newsletter that delights! Yours is the only one I get that is read word by word from beginning to end.
Since you’re a professional ‘writter’, what do you think of Julia Cameron’s Morning Pages?
Many swear by them, but I recognized my own experience with them in your Diary story. When I’ve tried Morning Pages, which I have several times, they seem more pointless than probing, more expulsion than expression. E.M. Forester’s,”How do I know what I think until I see what I say”, is the speaking version and it’s equally untrue for me. I come to what I really think when I force myself to write, think, reflect and rewrite until I can finally distill the flow of thoughts into a clear sentence, paragraph, or post. Nothing clear or profound has just flowed from my pen first thing in the morning like a hen producing a fully formed egg after some secret creative process happened in the night.
